It is so very necessary to distinguish clearly between a thought that arises over which no one has any control, and the horizontal thinking that may result thereafter.
The arising of the thought is something no one can prevent. What results as a reaction to that thought which has happened vertically in the present moment, is thinking in horizontal time. Such reaction is based on the vestiges of past experience, and will vary widely according to such conditioning.
